The International ethos is intrinsic to our academy is embedded across all curriculum areas. This enables our pupils to experience a range of international activities and promotes their developments as global thinkers. It supports pupils to become part of a global community, both at a local level and internationally. The main aims of international schools within our setting is to enable pupils to develop their understanding of other cultures and ethnicities. Achieving and maintaining the International School’s full award status has had a very positive impact on developing our pupils awareness of the cultures of other counties, while still promoting an understanding of their own culture. This invokes a better understanding and greater sense of empathy and tolerance for all our pupils. The Ofsted report carried out in 2015 states that “Opportunities to go on educational visits and to take part in special events make an outstanding contribution to students’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development. The academy does a great deal to promote British values and to prepare students for life in modern British society”.
The academy regained re-accreditation for the International Schools Full Award in September 2016.
